Weekend Notes X Links from Around the Web
Happy weekend to you!
It was such a long week. I don’t think I got much sleep and midweek I may have dozed off for two seconds in the toilet while at work! I’m excited that spring is on the way and the weather is getting brighter but with that comes longer days and somewhat shorter nights?
How have you been? In the last two weeks I’ve finally launched something I’ve been thinking about for the past two years - BlogYard, a community to help bloggers create excellent content and monetise their value. You should follow BlogYard on Instagram if you aren’t already—so much great advice and conversation!
Here are are some great links Afoma and I have put together for you!
~ What do you think about this? Would you accept gift cards as sympathy cards?
~ Jackie Aina’s rise to fame on YouTube has been massively inspirational for many content creators. Read her advice about the value of branding amongst other things.
~ Marrying an older man comes with many challenges. Afoma loved this video about how this 29-year-old woman and her 45-year-old husband handle their finances.
~ Alexis Ohanian talks about showing up in his marriage to Serena - and it’s kinda all over twitter. If you haven’t read it, you should.
~ Do you ignore emails? this article about why you shouldn’t is an excellent read. Being busy is really not an excuse.
~ What say ye? Should you fart in front of your significant other? The debate is fascinating. Just check out this post and the comments, of course.
~ This week, we at KT HQ have been thinking a lot about bloggers. So, we were excited to find this post about 51 FREE tools to market your business. Some of these are already popular, but there are some gems here too.
~ And while we’re at it, I’ll be going Live on Instagram today at 5pm GMT to chat with Kunbi of Perferte on all things content creation! You should tune in and ask some questions. Check out this post a brief recap from the last live session as we answered questions content creators have about monetisation and working with brands.
Finally, we are considering expanding our team and will be looking for a writer to help make our fashion/style, beauty and decor categories pop. Food and general lifestyle posts will be welcome too. It’s not a paid role, but hopefully that comes real soon! If this is you, please get in touch.
That’s about it. If you’re in Nigeria and voting, I hope it all goes well! What have you got planned for the weekend?
